PRIVACY AND DATA PROCESSING POLICY

Ambiente Hostel is committed to ensuring a quality service to all customers and visitors, as well as all aspects related to privacy. All information relating to Ambiente Hostel customers is handled in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation.

WHY THIS PERSONAL DATA POLICY?

This Policy is intended to inform our customers of the general rules for the processing of personal data, which are collected and processed in strict respect and compliance with the personal data protection legislation in force, namely Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016.

This Privacy Policy applies exclusively to the collection and processing of personal data for which Ambiente Hostel is responsible for the respective treatment, within the scope of the services and products available to its customers.

Identifiable is a natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, namely by reference to a name, identification number, electronic identifiers or to one or more specific elements of their physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social.

WHAT TYPES OF PERSONAL DATA ARE PROCESSED?

Ambiente Hostel, within the scope of its activities, processes the personal data necessary for the provision of services and/or supply of products, as well as in terms of social intervention, processing data such as name, address, telephone number and the e-mail address, according to the more detailed information made available to the holders of personal data.

HOW AND WHEN DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

Ambiente Hostel collects your personal data when booking our services, by computer or not, when checking in and/or in any other situation that needs to be done, guaranteeing, whenever necessary, the previous consent of the holder of the personal data.
The personal data collected can be processed by computer and in an automated or not, guaranteeing in all cases the strict compliance with the legislation for the protection of personal data, and under no circumstances will the data collected be used for any purpose other than that for the which were chosen or consent given by the data subject.

HOW AND FOR WHAT PURPOSES ARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA USED?

Ambiente Hostel uses the information collected to carry out the room reservation and billing processes, customer management, for historical and statistical purposes, legal obligations, control of the quality of the service and for future contacts. We use the information collected to tailor our products and services to our customers, to send information and possible promotions, via email or telephone call.
In this sense, if you wish, we suggest that you provide an email address suitable for receiving this type of communications. These communications are related to our products and services and do not constitute a legal or contractual obligation, therefore there are no consequences for anyone who does not wish to provide the email.

WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE INFORMATION?

Ambiente Hostel is responsible for the data collected, which are processed by computer and manually. To ensure the security of your data, we treat the information you provide us with absolutely confidentially in accordance with our internal security and confidentiality policies and procedures, and we do not share personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
If you are not satisfied with the way we treat the data provided, the data subject can submit his complaint to the supervisory authority – the National Data Protection Commission.

WHO CAN I CONTACT TO ACCESS, RECTIFY OR DELETE THE DATA?

Our customers and visitors have different privacy concerns and can at any time review, update and decide what type of data they want to be stored. The Data Protection Officer can be contacted directly through the email geral@ambientehostel.pt who may request at any time the copy of the data concerning him, the rectification, erasure, limitation, portability and opposition of the treatment thereof.

HOW LONG IS THE DATA STORED?

The period of time during which personal data is stored and maintained varies according to the purpose for which the information is processed.
Indeed, there are legal requirements that oblige to keep data for a minimum period of time. Thus, and whenever there is no specific legal requirement, the data will be stored and kept only for the minimum period necessary to pursue the purposes that motivated its collection or subsequent processing, under the terms defined by law.

IN WHICH CIRCUMSTANCES DOES DATA COMMUNICATE TO OTHER ENTITIES (THIRD PARTIES AND SUBCONTRACTORS)?

Ambiente Hostel, within the scope of its activity, may use third parties to provide certain services. Sometimes, the provision of these services implies access, by these entities, to personal data of customers. When this happens, Ambiente Hostel takes the appropriate measures, in order to ensure that the entities that have access to the data are reputable and offer the highest guarantees at this level.

VIDEO SURVEILLANCE SYSTEMS

Under the terms of Law nº 34/2013, of May 16th and Ordinance nº 273/2012 of August 20th, our Local Accommodation unit may, for the protection of visitors, carry out closed-circuit television surveillance. Possible surveillance cameras are in a clearly visible place, in areas under surveillance
